Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music
Very comprehensive, useful site with A-Z index, full examination syllabuses and other details, Teachers' Forum and on-line version of the Libretto journal.

The Federation of Music Services
The Federation represents the interests of Music Services in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Channel Islands through its advocacy role, promotion of good practice and professional services to members.

Incorporated Society of Musicians
A membership organisation with different categories for e.g. Teachers and students. Listings of members with website links and a very useful 'Careers with Music' section.

Jazz Services
Jazz Services promotes the growth and development of jazz within the UK. This prize-winning website is full of information on the organisation's services, jazz projects and resources for education including full and part-time courses. Background information is available on musicians and bands supported by Jazz Services, along with tour dates, venues and UK festivals. There is also a brief guide to seeking funding for projects, contact details for other jazz organisations and comprehensive links to other jazz-related sites.
Jazz Services is also the parent body for the MusicEd site.

Music Education Council (MEC)
Umbrella organisation for UK music education and industry organisations. Provides a forum for all concerned with music education and training, advocates and collates information reflecting the concerns of members. Current projects include seeking to influence political opinion on, among other things, the music curriculum and teacher training and professional development. Includes an A-Z of members.

Music Education Research Seminars led by the Royal College of Music
A series of seminars 2003-2006 which are of special interest to all those involved in music education. A sub-site of the main Royal College of Music website.

Music For Youth
An educational charity providing a national platform for young musicians.

Musicians Union
Full of information for members, including an education support site designed to help musicians who want to pass on their skills to others, with core materials, case studies and standards especially relevant to GNVQ and NVQ.

Music Industries Association (MIA)
The only UK trade association servicing and representing the interests of all UK businesses selling musical instruments and associated products. Also active in music education and political representation. Seeks to stimulate musical activity. Useful directory of member businesses throughout the UK, including instrument suppliers, with listing by category as well as alphabetically.

National Association of Music Educators
This site exists to support members of NAME in the development of music education which is 'accessible to all'. Extensive email and pinboard facilities for members.

The National Association of Youth Orchestras
Represents youth orchestras throughout the UK and fosters their development.

The National Music Council
The National Music Council seeks to celebrate and promote the value and enjoyment of music, which contributes, in all its forms, to the cultural, spiritual, educational, social and economic well-being of the United Kingdom. The Council has members drawn from all parts of the music business.

Making Music: National Federation of Music Societies (NFMS)
Represents and supports amateur choirs, orchestras and music promoters of all kinds throughout the U.K. Check out information on 'The Music Experience'. Includes a members' area.

Youth Music (NFYM)
Committed to making music-making 'available to every young person'. Website includes a sound studio.
